Doubling down in Fyresdal - partners with CBRE
Fossefall builds new AI factory in Fyresdal and partners with CBRE

Fossefall is doubling its investment in Fyresdal with another AI factory. Simultaneously, the company announces a strategic partnership with global leader CBRE for development and operations.
Just weeks after acquiring its first facility in Fyresdal, Fossefall AI announces the construction of a second AI factory in the Telemark municipality. The new facility will be built from the ground up on a newly acquired site and will operate in conjunction with other data centers being established in the area.
Global giant secures operations
To ensure scalability and operational excellence, Fossefall has entered into a partnership with CBRE Data Centre Solutions, the world's largest provider of data center operations services. The agreement ensures that the facilities are managed according to the strictest international standards for security and uptime.
"Fyresdal offers a unique combination of renewable power, suitable land, and a municipality committed to AI infrastructure. The partnership with CBRE provides the industrial strength needed to bolster Norway’s digital resilience while meeting the enormous demand for AI capacity," says Øyvind Vesterdal, CEO of Fossefall.

Boosting local value creation
The expansion will generate increased activity in Fyresdal, which several players have already identified as a key hub for digital infrastructure. Fossefall’s decision to establish two AI factories in Fyresdal validates the municipality's strategy of attracting future-oriented industry.
Mayor Erik Skjervagen describes the project as "the Norwegian Industrial Adventure 2.0" and highlights the positive ripple effects it will generate both locally and nationally.
"Fyresdal has never been part of Norway's major industrial success stories, but now the municipality is finally participating in the new industrialization of our country. We are also pleased that the municipality's power resources will be used to build Norwegian digital infrastructure rather than being exported as a raw commodity," says Skjervagen.

Energy-efficient development
Fossefall emphasizes that the development will be carried out with minimal environmental impact, and the company is already in dialogue with the municipality regarding how excess heat from the facility can be utilized for local purposes.
"We are building smaller, distributed units rather than making massive encroachments on nature. This reduces the burden on the local environment and minimizes our environmental footprint. By utilizing the cold inland climate of Fyresdal, we achieve natural cooling for much of the year, making this one of the most energy-efficient locations in Europe," explains Vesterdal.
Fossefall has already commenced planning the development in collaboration with CBRE and other technical suppliers.
